Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

Artist's Description

Brown pelican research. US Fish & Wildlife Service worker banding a brown pelican (Pelecanus occidentalis). Banding is used to identify individual animals over time to track animal population levels and movements. Brown pelicans almost became extinct in some parts of the USA due to use of the pesticide DDT. Since DDT was banned in 1972, pelican numbers have recovered. Photographed in 2002 at Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge, Florida, USA.
